As with everything in life, we need to be open-minded and readily accepting of new ideas, if we are to make any lasting changes to our lives or if we are to develop and grow further. This idea – “build muscle lose fat fast”, is not new and shouldn’t be too difficult to grasp for anyone willing to learn.
However, a lot of people will discount the practice because either they don’t like or don’t see themselves building muscles or they don’t think that building muscle mass is a good look for them. They just cannot see themselves going to the gym to try building or toning their muscles.
The question I am asking is, why do people not want to develop muscle mass further? Especially given that there are so many benefits to doing so? Could it be because they might think they are more likely to become too muscle bound like Arnold Schwarzenegger?
Few Facts/Myths About Building Muscles

Its not easy to become muscle bound especially if you are a woman.
For women, it’s going to be extremely difficult for you to become muscle bound. A lot of factors will have to be met before you can get to that stage. For example, the intensity of your training, your nutrition and resting or recovery periods will all have to be right, before your body starts growing more muscles.
There are also restrictions caused by your genes, types of muscle (fast twitch versus slow twitch) and hormones, to name just a few variables.
The good thing is, it is still possible to increase your strength and muscle mass and thus get the benefits of faster weight loss.
For men, with relatively good health – they would not have the same limitations that women have (simply coz they are men yes) and so they should be able to grow their muscle mass and gain the benefits of faster weight loss.
In saying that, there are always exceptions or challenges. If you are extremely skinny or overweight, you might need special help to setup your weight loss program.
Can “Build Muscle Lose Fat Fast” actually work?
In our opinion, which we arrived at after a period of intense study and research, performed over many years, this is not a myth. It is only recently, in the past 10-20 years that a lot more research was done in these areas helping us to understand better how our bodies behave when under intense physical training.
But you don’t have to do intense physical training to get the results needed. One can still get some results with some minimum training. It is well known that you don’t have to lift very heavy weights to develop muscle mass, you can still maximize your growth by halving the weight being lifted or use much lighter weights. Isn’t that weird?
Most people when they talk about muscle building and muscle training tend to think only of weights, barbells, bench press machines and the gym. Reality is, you can still build muscles by using resistance training using nothing more than your body weight. For example, these exercises will help you strengthen and build mass – push ups, pull ups, squats, chinese chair and so forth.
And if you don’t like any of those you use isometric exercises where you push one body part against an immovable object like a wall or door or push your limbs against each and hold for several seconds. Those isometric exercises will do you wonders.
The Disadvantages of Building Muscle Mass
Believe it or not, there are definitely some disadvantages in building muscles.
On one side, we have researches that concluded that people who are over 50, doing regular strengthening exercises at least twice a week, will not only increase their longevity but will also be able to lead quality lives. The key thing to understand is that doing strength training to a certain intensity level will work better than a program that does not have enough intensity or when it has too much.
On the other side, other researchers also concluded that when your body breaks down and rebuilds muscle tissue, it unfortunately speeds up the aging process in your body. You can read more about those effects online but we will bring more as we go.
